Triathlon Checklist

In light of my up-coming race season this summer I have revisited a checklist that I had made several years ago. It is fairly inclusive and useful, if you are a list type person. I have decided to put it up here so that anyone can both contribute to it and prospher from it’s existence.

Triathlon Checklist


  • Swimsuit
  • Goggles
  • Swim cap
  • Bucket or tub (with water to wash sand off feet)
  • Wetsuit PRN
  • Towels (sit on in transition area, dry off, wipe feet)
  • Sunscreen
  • Petroleum jelly


  • Helmet
  • Bike shoes
  • Socks
  • Bike shorts PRN
  • Bike jersey & singlet PRN
  • Gloves (probably not in a short race)
  • Sunglasses
  • Water bottles (always more than one)
  • Spare tires & tubes
  • CO2 cartridges
  • Tool kit
  • Floor pump or Frame pump
  • Bike lube


  • Running shoes
  • Socks
  • Shorts
  • Singlet
  • Hat or Visor
  • Sunglasses


  • Watch
  • Race number
  • Race information
  • Map
  • Pen/pencil
  • Identification/passport
  • Money & or credit card
  • First aid kit
  • Fluid replacement drink
  • Energy food
  • Misc. warmer cloths (tights, jacket, helmet cover, etc.)
  • Bag for dirty clothes
