The Emperor's New Castle

Today my day started at 7:AM. Last night I fell asleep packing boxes last night in my old apartment and was awoken by a early AM phone call asking, “Do you have everything ready for the movers?” OH, crap! Not quite done yet, I still had to finish up a couple of boxes.

Any way, The Clausen Brothers Movers showed up a little late, but overall were exceptional. They worked quickly and diligently and finished up in a little less time than they quoted me. So… a couple dozen trips up and down the 3 flights of stairs, 20 boxes, several large pieces of furniture, a new one bedroom apartment, and three hours later I could begin unpacking.

Man, moving really sux!

The new apartment is nice, a lot smaller than the previous one. And the view is not quite as nice as what I got to experience previously. But it is still a nice view. And I hope the parking is a little less crowded. Either way the management at The Verandahs Apartments has been excellent about transferring me to a different apartment. They were flexible and reasonable regarding my needs. They have always been very responsive to any suggestions or requests that I have had during the 2 years that I have lived there.

I am starting to settle in and get things situated and unpacked. I hope to have everything unpacked before the weekend is over. I am just struggling with some furniture placement options. This apartment is not set up to contain a home office. I probable should have gone with a 2 bedroom but hindsight is usually 20/20! I will probably forgo the dining table and chairs in leu of an office center in the dining area.

There are always some compromises to be made when moving. All things considered, this was a fairly painless move into a very nice apartment.
