I don’t know why, but I haven’t been finding the time amidst my traveling and photography-ing to actually make a post of any sort here. That being said, I’m going to put some effort back into this site so… here are a few shots from the NineBullets concert back in May for AutopsyIV’s birthday party/concert. It was an amazing (and amazingly loud) show, great music, as always great people, & a great crowd.
Photos from Thursday’s (May 13, 2010) Angels & Airwaves concert at The Ritz Theater in Tampa, FL. It was an entertaining show from what I saw of it? Not really my kind of music but still entertaining.
20,000’ish Parrot Heads, 12 minutes, 3 songs… When I showed up at the Amphitheater all I kept thinking was, “damn, that’s a lot of people”. When I walked into the venue to photo the allotted 3 songs, all I kept thinking was, “no? THAT is a lot of people!”
Photos from the Ha Ha Tonka & Murder By Death Show on April 23rd at The Orphieum in Tampa, FL. Be sure to check out my buddy Bryan’s review on the show.
This past Saturday I shot the Garment District 813 fashion show at the Tampa Armature for Creative Loafing. The show consisted of Ben Chmura?s first Resort Collection: Lamia?s Wrath; and Raven Reda’s new collection: Coup D?etat. It was a great show, albeit amazingly hot in the Armature building. Overall some really inspiring fashion designs and many beautiful models in a very unique setting but also one hell of a day to have some of my gear malfunction on me!
I’m not exactly sure what went wrong with the focus mechanism but 8/10 of my shots were garbage. They were just slightly out of focus and the exposure was all over the board, plenty enough to make them unusable… I’m not in the habbit of chimping while I’m shooting if the lighting conditions aren’t changing. So needless to say it was of the most disappointing things that I can imagine discovering after an evening of shooting. Thankfully I was shooting with two cameras so I still got some good shots!
Read the coverage of the event over at the Creative Loafing Blog or look for it in this week’s print.
I was contacted by the Sarah Gerard and Mitzi Gordon from The Dali Museum of St Petersburg about photographing their portion of Creative Loafing’s Sensory Overload event several weeks ago. They were going to do a temporary art installation in the form of a Dali inspired fashion show and performance art. To say that I was a little excited to do this is really denying my inner tendency for hyperbole.
Over the evening of shooting the Dali’s exhibit at Creative Loafing’s Sensory Overload party) I met some awesome people and had a great time. I’d like to give props to Mitzi Gordon for all of her hard work organizing the exhibit, the designers Ivanka Ska, Aleka Pheonix, Ungala and all of the performers including the staff from the Dali Museum, the dancers from USF and University of Tampa, and Hillsborough Community College and everyone else involved. You were all amazing to work with!
I had to wait a little while to post my take on the evening so that the Dali could get first exposure on the entire set of photos from the evening and Creative Loafing could run with the photos that I took while wandering around with their street team after the Sensory overload party was over.
And with that, I give you my photographic story of the evening?
